Student Capacity Building through Energy Saving Campaign:
This campaign is to reduce the demand for energy in Uttar Pradesh by motivating students as well as their parents /guardians with the active participation of school management by public awareness and motivate the schools to adopt energy efficient equipment & practices.

After joining the campaign on website www.upsavesenergy.com Educational Institutions have to perform the following activities:
- Formation of Student Energy Club
- Energy Survey of the school
- Student and Guardian Pledge
- Energy Conservation Awareness Activities
- Implementation of Energy Saving measures
- Celebration of Important Days/Events
- Social Media Posting
Energy Efficiency Training Program for School:
Energy Efficiency Training Program has been conducted in various schools of Uttar Pradesh from class six to class twelve, who have registered on website www.upsavesenergy.com and performed various energy conservation activities. Following activities has been carried out during the training program:
- Presentation on Energy Efficiency
- Energy Survey
- Quiz Competition
- Certificate & Memento distribution

Curriculum on Energy Efficiency for Polytechnic Colleges:
Uttar Pradesh SDA has developed Energy Efficiency curriculum for Diploma Engineering, which has been included by RDTI Uttar Pradesh as a subject for three years diploma Engineering Courses from the session 2018-19 for 40 diploma courses.

Energy Saving Calculator

The purpose of this energy calculator is to help you determine the average electricity consumption of each of your electrical appliances and their contribution to your monthly electricity bill. Also it shows how much electricity / money you can save if old appliance is replaced with Energy Efficient appliance.

How to Use the Calculator

Step 1: Fill the Cost of Electricity.
Step 2: Fill the quantity for each of the appliances.
Step 3: The calculator will display the electricty consumption (in kWh) & electricty saving (in kWh) for each appliance per annum and sunbsquent cost saving.
For example: If you are using 1 bulb of 100W for 8 hour a day (200 days in a year), then you should fill in as follows:
Cost of Electricity = Rs 7.0 per unit (Assumed)

The calculator shows that your Incandescent Bulb consumes on ..160... kWh per annuam and it contributes Rs .1120.00.. to your annual electricity bill. By replacing the old bulb with Energy Efficient 9 watt LED bulb you can reduce your consumpation up to 145.6 kWh per annum which reduces your electricity bill from Rs 1120.00 to Rs. 100.80
